Bali clamps down on tourist photographers; Panasonic pulls S9 firmware

Regulatory enforcement, firmware pull, and lens variety
From the Editor

Bali is actively enforcing visa restrictions against photographers and videographers, including those shooting for personal use with no commercial intent — anyone planning a trip with a camera should check their visa category before departure. Panasonic has pulled Firmware 2.0 for the Lumix S9 two days after release, after users reported image corruption including coloured banding and heavy noise; the wireless update function is now disabled while Panasonic investigates. The DJI and Insta360 patent dispute has widened, with DJI's original suit over the Luna Ultra now met by five countersuits from Insta360 covering Osmo and Ronin product lines — both sets of cases are before U.S. courts and unresolved.
