Blackmagic Design's free Camera 10.2.2 firmware adds phase detect autofocus to the Cinema Camera 6K, covering continuous AF, face tracking, and object tracking. The same update brings Blackmagic Cloud stream routing, 10-minute pre-record, and 4-channel audio. The PDAF system reads directly off the imaging sensor, so focus acquisition is faster and more stable than the contrast-based system it replaces.
