Canon's free firmware update for the EOS C80 and C400, landing August 19 2026, adds Cinema Exposure Mode, which Canon says recovers up to two stops of highlight performance when shooting above base ISO. The C400 also picks up Auto Exposure Ramping Compensation for Cine-Servo lenses, useful for live and broadcast situations where exposure shifts need to be smooth. Both cameras also get support for the new CN30x40 Cine-Servo 40-1200mm, along with a cleaner menu layout for log shooting.
