Carlos Jaramillo's Portrait of South Central LA's Paletero Community

auto_awesomePixelfetch Take
Carlos Jaramillo spent over a year walking South Central Los Angeles to document its paletero vendors and Latino immigrant community, a project published by Aperture. The work connects to his family's own history in the neighbourhood and was sparked by Judy Baca's 1994 paletero cart sculpture at the Museum of Latin American Art.
