Chris Smith, Sports Photographer for the Observer and Sunday Times, Dies

Chris Smith, staff photographer for the Observer and Sunday Times, has died. He worked across the last four decades of the 20th century documenting sport's biggest personalities, from Muhammad Ali to George Best and Seve Ballesteros. His 1964 frame of the Beatles clowning with Cassius Clay in a Miami training gym, taken while on assignment ahead of the Liston fight, became one of the most recognised sports photographs ever made.
