Cinematographer Plans 36-Second Eclipse Shot in Spain

Cinematographer Arthur Detienne is shooting a full production around the August 12 total solar eclipse over mainland Spain, the country's first in over 120 years. The geometry puts the eclipsed sun near the horizon at totality, allowing a performer's silhouette to sit in the same frame as the corona. With just 36 seconds of totality at their site northwest of Zaragoza, the crew pre-planned subject distance (105m), elevation offset (6m), filter mounts, and exposure charts to the shot.
