James Balog: 15 Years Documenting Glacial Loss with Time-Lapse

James Balog's Extreme Ice Survey ran 15 years and produced 1.72 million frames from time-lapse cameras installed at glaciers across Greenland, Iceland, Alaska and Canada. Around 220,000 frames were discarded due to lens contamination from ice, dust and dirt, leaving 1.5 million archived at the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
