Sigma 50mm F1.4 CL: New Vintage-Style Line Trades Corner Sharpness for Character

auto_awesomePixelfetch Take
Sigma's new 50mm F1.4 CL DG Contemporary is the first lens in a new CL line, positioned within the I series family: aluminium build, knurled hood, depth-of-field scale, 375g, 65mm long, 52mm filter thread, dust and splash sealed. Nine elements in six groups, three aspherics, one FLD element, minimum focus 0.45m. Sigma has stated openly that corner sharpness was sacrificed for size and rendering character, with soft falloff by design.
