Vincenzo Pagliuca's 'Bunker' Documents WWII Fortifications in South Tyrol

Vincenzo Pagliuca's Bunker is a hardcover photobook from Hartmann Books documenting the WWII-era fortifications built by Fascist Italy along the South Tyrol border, structures that remained under military control until 1993. Pagliuca photographed the concrete domed masses and mountain-carved positions without people, letting the structures sit against Alpine meadows and snowfields. Some exteriors, originally camouflaged to mimic exposed rock, have taken on an almost organic quality as vegetation moves in.
