Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55 & GF32-90mm Get Firmware Updates

If you're pulling 4K 4:3 out of the GFX Eterna 55 and your external monitor has been lagging — that's fixed now. Niche audience, but for medium format cinematographers actually using this rig on set, this is exactly the kind of irritant that derails a shoot.

TIPA 2026 Photo & Imaging Award Winners Revealed

TIPA's 2026 winners list is worth scanning not as gospel but as a reliable industry compass — these awards reflect what working journalists across 30+ countries actually used and rated. The lens picks are the real signal here: Sigma's 35mm f/1.2 Art II and Sony's 50-150mm f/2 GM landing top spots suggests the fast-prime and fast-zoom renaissance isn't slowing down. File the camera winners as confirmation rather than revelation — most of these bodies were already on your radar.

GFX ETERNA 55 Goes Live on The Voice France

Large-format cinema isn't just for features anymore — The Voice France just ran the GFX ETERNA 55 as a live broadcast B-camera, which tells you something about where the format ceiling actually sits. If you're pitching video work to commercial or broadcast clients, this is useful ammo: the 'too cinematic for TV' objection just got harder to make.

Leitz Hektor Cine Primes Now Mount on Fujifilm GFX

If you're shooting on a GFX ETERNA 55 and looking for cine glass that doesn't require an adapter, this matters. The Hektor T2.1 set is now available native G mount, which keeps your flange distance clean and your metadata honest. The sensor coverage caveat is real — Leitz is clear these don't fill the full large-format frame — but for standard cine formats you're fine. This is a narrow audience: medium format cinema shooters with serious budgets. If that's you, it's worth a look at current pricing before your next production quote.

Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 Wins NAB Product of the Year

The GFX ETERNA 55 winning NAB Product of the Year is a signal, not just a trophy. Fujifilm is planting its flag in cinema, and the CineD comparison against the ARRI ALEXA 35 is the test that actually matters for anyone considering it as a serious production tool. More immediately actionable: the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM is being discontinued internationally. If you shoot Sony, Nikon, or Canon and wanted a solid workhorse zoom without the first-party price tag, buy it now before stock disappears.

    Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 Firmware 1.10 + 2027 Roadmap

Fujifilm has released firmware 1.10 for the GFX ETERNA 55, fixing white balance instability when shooting with PL-mount lenses — both Fujifilm's own glass not yet updated to ETERNA 55 firmware and third-party optics. Alongside the update, Fujifilm published a public firmware roadmap through 2027 promising automatic electronic ND control, LANC support, in-camera MXF playback, additional anamorphic desqueeze options, and remote control of FUJINON Duvo lenses. Hard warning from Fujifilm: wrap any in-progress project before updating, as colour tone may change and matching footage across firmware versions will be a problem.

ARRI Sells Global Rental Business in Management Buy-Out

ARRI is selling its global rental business in a management buy-out backed by H2 Equity Partners, with Dana Harrison as incoming CEO of the standalone rental entity. Illumination Dynamics stays with ARRI. Separately, the FCC has fined companies the agency describes as DJI front operations, and Sony has announced the RX10 V along with the LYTIA L910 smartphone sensor. Firmware updates are out for the Sony VENICE 2 and FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55.

MID49 Builds Modular Rig System Around Sony FX5

MID49 is one of the first accessory makers out with a full modular rig for the Sony FX5. The key piece is a TWIST Mount EVF system that works around a confirmed Sony limitation: out of the box, the DVF-EL1 viewfinder and the XLR-H2 handle can't run at the same time. MID49's EVF extension cable fixes that, letting operators use the viewfinder alongside the handle's 96 kHz/32-bit float audio simultaneously. Also in the lineup: a rod clamp for the XLR-H2, swing-away V-Mount and Gold Mount power plates, and a quick-release baseplate with both ARCA and ARRI dovetail interfaces.
