Fujifilm X Half Drops to $550 as Tariff Padding Fades
The X Half launched at $849 with a lot of eye-rolls attached. That price was almost certainly padded for tariff risk during peak US trade war chaos, not a reflection of what Fujifilm actually wanted to charge. It's now sitting at $550 as a permanent price point. Still a lifestyle camera, not a workhorse. But at this price it's a wrap gift, a second body for street, or a deliberate palette cleanser between commercial jobs. The camera didn't change. The excuse not to buy one just got weaker.

Fujifilm X Half Drops to $550 After $300 in Price Cuts
The X Half was a hard sell at $850. A quirky half-frame digital with a film-adjacent shooting experience, it was easy to dismiss as a lifestyle product priced for the Instagram crowd. At $550 it becomes a legitimate conversation for photographers who want something pocket-sized and genuinely different from their main kit. Not a working camera, but not pretending to be one either.

Fujifilm X Half Drops to $549: Does the Price Finally Fix It?
The X Half was never a working tool. Fixed lens, touchscreen controls, no instant playback in Film Mode. Fujifilm built it for the slow-down crowd, not the deliver-by-Friday crowd. At $849 it was easy to dismiss. At $549 it starts making sense as a personal camera you actually carry — the kind that sits in your bag on days off, not on set. If you've been curious but couldn't justify it, this is the discount that changes the maths. Not a priority purchase. But no longer a hard no.

Camera GP 2026: Sony A7 V Takes Camera of the Year
57 journalists and industry reps just handed Sony back-to-back wins at one of Japan's most credible gear awards, and the pattern here is worth noting. The A7 V taking camera of the year is no surprise. But Canon sweeping both readers' categories with the R6 Mark III and the RF 45mm f/1.2 STM tells you something about what photographers are actually buying and shooting with day to day. The Sigma BF getting an editors' pick confirms that the 'minimal, intentional' compact category is being taken seriously by people who test gear for a living, not just gear enthusiasts online.

Fujifilm X Half Review: Half-Frame Digital Done the Old Way
Fstoppers puts the Fujifilm X Half through its paces: a digital camera that shoots vertical half-frame stills, uses a wind-on lever, withholds images until a full "roll" is complete, and optionally burns a date stamp into the frame.
