Sam Haskins: Auction Brings Pioneer's Work Back Into Focus

Sam Haskins prints are heading to auction, which has prompted Amateur Photographer to profile the photographer behind the million-selling books Cowboy Kate & Other Stories (1964) and Five Girls (1962). Haskins was a Pentax ambassador for years and shot 15 annual Pentax calendars; his studio in Johannesburg, established in 1953, is credited as Africa's first modern freelance advertising photography operation.
