Sungho Bae sources discarded stuffed toys from shops and disposal sites, pulls them apart, and rebuilds them over sculptural armatures into forms that read as visceral and organic — muscle, tissue, organs. His current exhibition Apotropaia presents the results as protective objects referencing Greek mystical tradition. One standout piece, 'Dansu', pairs a reconstructed head with taxidermy eyes and feather hair, mounted on a weathered Go board.
